Setting up shop. Personalizing your space. Make this house, a home.
Exploring your options
There are many ways to personalize your new home. You may choose to add new features like glass-front cabinets or crown molding. You may have always wanted granite countertops or a Sub-Zero® fridge. Or, you may wish to leave your beautiful new home just the way it is. If you choose to pursue particular upgrades or options, you'll need to order and pay for your selections by the specific cut-off dates provided by your Sales Counselor. Our cut-off dates follow a thoughtful sequence, based on the chronological phases of your home's construction. The range of possibilities available to you depends on the construction status of your home at the time you purchase. Once a home moves past a certain point in construction, we're unable to accept option requests, so that we can keep the construction of your home (and the homes around it) on schedule.
Time is of the essence
Building a home is an extremely intricate process. Your Options Sales Representative Consultant will work with you to give you the appropriate amount of time to compare tile and textures, but our main goal is to get you into your new home on time. Consider which options or upgrades complement your design preferences, lifestyle habits and daily routine. Think of the way your family lives and ask yourself which features would be most difficult to add after your home is constructed. For example, cabinet selections, plumbing additions, and changes to kitchen and bathroom countertops are more complex and costly to change once construction is completed. And, most importantly, you'll avoid the disruption and extra costs that come with home improvements started after your family moves in.
Planning is paramount
Due to the sheer volume of buyer activity, our Options Sales Representative are available by appointment only. To meet the options deadlines for your new home, you may pre-arrange an appointment with your Options Sales Representative prior to the cut-off dates. Or, you may order all desired upgrades at one time.
Financing considerations
You may choose to finance your options; however, regardless of payment method, a deposit is required up front. Once you have ordered and purchased options or upgrades, your deposit is non-refundable because we immediately place the order for the contracted work. After this point, any changes or cancellations on your order will incur a processing fee. And, written documentation is required for all options selected. This formal process helps to ensure the accuracy of your order and enables your Options Sales Representative to carefully review all aspects of your purchase with you. Should you elect to add option costs to your loan, you'll need to complete the necessary paperwork with your Sales Counselor 60 days prior to close of escrow. Check with your William Lyon Financial Loan Counselor to be sure your particular loan package allows for the financing of options and that you qualify for the increased loan amount.
